He gave me a treatment that took away nearly all the pain and made me feel so relaxed. I felt so much better and confident in what he had done for me. He treated me again on Sunday, the next day, and again this time the pain had become even less. He asked me to return on Monday after I had been to the hospital to see what they had done. In the hospital they took another x-ray and then they told me that an operation was not necessary. They put my arm in a special bandage to support it and told me to wear it for six weeks then return after four weeks. After the four weeks I returned where the hospital took another X-ray. The doctor said that the break had mended. It was a 'miracle'. I am sure that the healing energy that Douglas gave me made this 'miracle' happen.

I was riding powder snow and hit a very unexpected rock. My ankle took the full force of the hit and burned like fire… that was the day over! In the evening it really started to hurt, I couldn’t stand on it anymore and I had to find my set of crutches. In hospital the next day there was some good news after X-rays; no broken bones, but stretched ligaments, a torn capsule and haematoma in the joint. By pure chance I bumped into Douglas. He found some time for me and worked in three sessions on my injured foot. It sounds pretty trashy, but I walked in on crutches and walked out without them. That was 24 hours later.

I thought perhaps I was in for some hypnotic mumbo jumbo, but then he placed his hands on my shoulders and I felt what I can only describe as a strobing sensation coursing through my body. He then placed his hand on my ankle and it felt like a bunsen burner had been lit under my leg. I felt like my ankle was in a vice and I asked Douglas to stop gripping it, but when I looked, he simply had the palm of his hand flat on my leg! He removed his hand and told me to stand up. I walked towards my crutches, absolutely pain-free. Douglas remarked that I wouldn’t be needing them and he was right. I wandered around the waiting room hopping and balancing on the injured ankle that an hour earlier I could not stand on, even for a second.

For more than a quarter of a century I was unable to breathe properly and lived with constant pain that resembled being wrapped in cling film with shards of broken glass next to my skin - or being stabbed constantly with hundreds of red-hot knives over my body 24 hours a day. Doctors could apparently find no cure for the searing pain I endured following a terrible riding accident. It was as if I’d held my breath for 25 years because my ribcage had been frozen ever since the accident. But when Douglas placed his hands on the front and back of my thorax it was as if someone had thrown open the windows and let in the fresh air. The energy I felt was so powerful that within 10 to 15 seconds I was breathing properly again. I took my first lungful of air in a quarter of a century.
